Bookshelf Headboards Knowledge Base
For those with the beds that have drawers or bookshelf headboards - are they useful? We're looking at getting our son a twin sized bed once he's out of his crib, and have seen a lot that have drawers below, and most sets come with a bookshelf headboard. My question is, for those who have them, did you find the drawers useful or is it better to get a dresser? What about those bookshelf headboards, have you found them useful or annoying? Is it better to get a bookshelf that can be moved around freely and not provide your child with nighttime distractions above their head? Did your toddler try to climb up on them? I figured I should ask around before investing in a bedroom set for him!
Are these pieces of furniture supposed to go together? I'm looking to update my room a little bit and was thinking about getting a new bed. I started looking around and finally I found some stuff on overstock.com Now the problem. I found a new bed and would love a headboard but I'm not sure if I get the platform bed that the headboard is made or even supposed to be with the bed. Please send help. Bed URL: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Broadway-Black-Queen-Platform-Storage-Bed/2460975/product.html Head Board URL: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Broadway-Black-Queen-size-Bookshelf-Headboard/2209050/product.html I suppose I'm not to worried if they DO go together physically as opposed to if they are supposed to or not be together visually.
How do I paint wood furniture so that it will not flake? I have an old wooden bedroom set. (I doubt that it is solid wood). I would like to get rid of the oak color and paint it white... How I do this without the paint flaking/scratching off? I have a headboard, chest, dresser, and bookshelf.
How to ship large items? I'd really like to sell some furniture (Headboards, dressers, bookshelves) I've made on ebay, etsy, or similar sites. If something like this was to sell, what would be the best way to ship it? Do I list it for a sale price + shipping, or do I include shipping in the sale price?
Where is the best place to find teenage girls' bedroom furniture? I need it to be relatively cheap. And I'd white wood furniture. I like the shelves in the headboard of the bed and not too may drawers in the desk. I'd also like a bookshelf and nightstand. What stores would have a fairly cheap, white wood, furniture set like this?
I am currently designing my bedroom and need ideas.? I have a very tight budget, so DIY projects are definitely welcome. I have three light yellow walls and one light blue wall. It is a small bedroom-my furniture consists of a king sized bed, a dresser and a bookshelf (both of those are tall rather than wide-they take up less room that way). I'm looking mainly for ideas of wall art. I don't have a headboard and was thinking of making one myself, but I don't know, since my room is already small it might make it appear smaller. thanks!
What size moving truck to use? I have to move in a week and I am trying to pick a truck size at Uhaul but I can't decide. I have a small one bedroom apartment. I would like to move everything in one trip. I am trying to decide between the 17 foot or the 24 foot truck. Here is a list of all the furniture and number of boxes we will be moving: One full size bed 2 large dressers 1 small dresser 1 desk 4 chairs small dining table 3 medium bookshelves 1 big couch 1 king size Corduroy bean bag sofa 1 big tv tv stand 1 headboard 1 large framed picture 23 large tuperware storage containers 20 small-medium boxes of stuff 1 big computer monitor and tower ok, so that is all our stuff...should we use the 17 foot or the 24 foot to move it all in one trip. The other thing I need to consider is that the 24 foot truck might be a hassle to drive and park at the new place.
My 4 year old Daughter is driving me crazy!? I am at my wits end! I have 3 children 2 years, 4 years and 6 years. My two boys are 2 and 6 and im not saying they are perfect, but they are much better than my 4 year old daughter. I fight with her ALL day.. To clean her room, take a nap, just about anything I ask her to do I have to fight with her over! She destroys everything in my house, I've tried letting her lay in my bed for a nap, thinking that would encourage her to be a big girl, she destroyed everything in my jewlery box. and threw powder all over my room. I've tried laying her down in her own room and she destroys that as well, not just the normal usual toys every where. She broke the bookshelf headboard of her bed into pieces, managed to get ahold of food coloring and make circles of red blue and yellow all over her floor and walls. She gets up at night and gets into the kitchen and eats and drinks anything thats there, ie coffee creamer, cookies, juice.. anything thats in there. Just this morning I was getting my 6 year old dressed for school and she was in the Kitchen putting a combination of butter, salt and peper all over my floors. When I yell at her, she tells me I dont love her. And im starting to think that she thinks that, becasue of all the distructivness I am always yelling at her. But every single day its something else. When her father is here she is not like that. Her dad is in the Army, He is deployed right now for the third time. I know some of you will say this is her way of lashing out cause she misses her father, which your probably right, but HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP?! She gets plenty of outside time. At 1 we walk to the park till 3 then go up to the school and pick up her brother, its usually outside in the back yard until dinner, then baths, prayers and bed.. Please help!! I do set aside for mommy and daughter time. She is a middle child, but also the only girl, so she gets "girl" attention above the boys. I've tried taking her toys, time out, corner, just about everything I dont make her nap all the time, if she has quiet time that is fine by me. I've locked the fridge and cupboards.. she figures those out 10 seconds after they are done. Doing nothing about her destroying things.. and just throwing it away suggests she will never recieve anything again .. how do i pull that off..
Should I buy or build a loft bed? I'm thinking about getting a loft bed for a very small room. I'm not sure what size I want yet. The site I'm looking at getting one from would be $450 after shipping and accessories, and then I'd have to put it together. http://www.collegebedlofts.com/order_loft_bed.html The accessories I'd like to put on whether I build it or buy it would be a towel bar, clothing rack (or two), accessory and clock shelves, and bookshelf headboard. (see site above to see what I'm talking about) I've also thought about building one myself, but I'm really unsure. I have no building experience. My dad has tons of experience, but may or may not be able to help me. I could probably get my friends/boyfriend to help me, but they don't have any experience either. Also, I don't have access to a saw, so I can't cut my own wood. Can I get wood cut at a lumber yard? How much does it usually cost (the wood and the cutting)? Based on these things, should I go for it and try to build my own, or should I fork over the $450 and buy it pre-made? How many days or hours does it usually take? I don't really like Ikea stuff because they're too expensive for what you get, IMHO. I also don't want a metal bed. I like solid wood furniture. :)
What to put in a guest room? I put this in family because I know a lot of families who rent out rooms, and I might get some good advice here. Not really a 'guest' room but I don't know what else to call it. A girl from England is coming to stay with us for a few months and I'm not sure what to..furnish her room with. She has her own bedroom, bathroom and walk in closet. I have the basics - double bed, headboard, bookshelf, dresser/vanity, bedding and pillows. I also have an extra computer desk, entertainment unit, tv, couch and mini fridge around, the room is very large so don't worry about it being crowded - should I include these things? It can't hurt right? There's just some things I'm wondering about. Should I put stuff on the bookshelves? Some of my magazines, picture frames, candles? Should I put some pens and notebooks in the desk? A calendar? Clothes hangers? Should I put art up on the walls? Towels, bath mat, toothbrush holder, laundry hamper? I feel weird asking if she's bringing these things haha, I don't know her very well yet. I guess it should be like a hotel right? All the little things you should expect to be there.. If you could take a few moments to think about what you would want in a room you're renting, give me a little list of things I might not be thinking about. Also any other tips for making her feel more at home would be sooooo appreciated. Thanks so much everyone =)

Best place to buy furniture? I am going to buy all new furniture for my bedroom which includes: headboard, dresser, desk, bookshelf and end table. Is IKEA a good place to get all of this? I want the furniture to be all white and modern to match my bedroom. I have a red accent wall, black couch and black shelves. Any help?
Where can I buy this bed? The bed from this video --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-kQhllSN2g&feature=related I love it! All I know is it's a full/queen and it's got a headboard w/ a bookshelf. I've already searched the web but I can't find this exact one. Please help?
What does your bed look like? and the linens? mine is a queen wave-less water bed, it's teak wood, the headboard has a small mirror with bookshelves on each side, no foot board, and 4 large drawers underneath, we have cream sheets & green pillow cases, & a gold/maroon/green/brown/cream paisley print comforter set on it right now.
I'd like to build my own aviary or large cages.....? How do I go about getting that done? I have plenty enough parakeets, but I want to have my own caging system, preferably one in which they can have a "jungle gym" and/or tree system and rocks etc. in it, and it looks like the tropical wild or be like one of those Star Trek naturalistic environments or habitats that I can walk into and be with them, complete with the sounds of the streams, storms, and other bird and animal noises. Of course I don't know the how to on getting accomplished that which I have in my head... I have never built something and don't even know how to build a nightstand or bookshelves or headboard for beds, let alone a project such as this. I don't much like some of those online caging systems.... How do I get started?
How to create a more romantic atmosphere in the bedroom? I'm looking for ideas to make our bedroom more of a romantic place. My first thought is red sheets and red pillows and lots of, well, red, but it seems that might be overdoing it. Was wondering if anyone could offer me any tips on design? Right now we have a double bed, two mismatched dressers (we're 20, it was stuff our parents had extra of when we moved in together!), a nightstand, three bookshelves...no headboard, and a TV. We don't have a lot of money to work with and we're not allowed to paint, we live in an apartment. Any great, relatively cheap ideas? Thanks!
Paris themes bedroom Ideas? I'm redoing my bedroom, the furniture I have for it is a tall full-sized bed with a light wooden bookshelf (as the headboard). I have an all-white dresser with light wooden tops, same with a bedside table. I'm going to get a laced-type bedspread, and a matching lamp and wall decal. Any ideas on what to use to make is sort-of Paris themed? I'm not looking for furniture, mostly decor
Free queen size bed plans? I am looking for some free plans for a queen sized bed frame (preferably with storage drawers underneath but that isn't a must) with a headboard that has bookshelves on it. I plan on building this as a surprise for my wife but not sure where i can get plans from. any ideas?

Was this a good buy? My parents bought me a bedroom set that cost them $1,000 dollars. It included a dresser ( with the mirror), a headboard, a nightstand, and a bookshelf. It was washed oak and really pretty. So was it cheap or expensive? Thanks!! It also included the delivery with the taxes included. Thankyou for all of the answers!
How much could I sell this bed+headboard+desk+dresser for? http://www.target.com/Bookcase-Headboard-Vanilla/dp/B0009PQ7B2/ref=br_1_10?ie=UTF8&id=Bookcase%20Headboard%20Vanilla&node=386330011&searchSize=30&searchView=grid5&searchPage=2&sr=1-10&qid=1299423828&rh=&searchBinNameList=target_com_category-bin%2Cstyle_name%2Ctarget_com_gender-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Cfinish_types-bin%2Cprice%2Cmaterial_type%2Cpattern_name-bin%2Ccollection_name-bin%2Citem_styling&searchRank=salesrank&frombrowse=1 Okay in the corner is the dresser and then theres the bed and headboard. Then on the left, (on the side of the desk) is a bookshelf built in. Not broken or scratched eitherrr! So how much could I sell this on ebay for? THANK YOUUU! This is in all just so you all know..
How to paint real & fake wood furniture black? I have a very old dresser which is real wood, and a headboard which I think is some sort of fake wood (its smooth on it's surface) black to match each other. I am thinking something semi-gloss or glossy. I don't want things to stick to it as the dresser has my TV on top of it, and the headboard is sort of like a bookshelf, so if non-glossy would be better I would go for that too. I think the old dresser is stained and is kind of "soft" when I scratch it with my nail. I'm looking for suggestions on prep and type of paint to use, and as easy a process as possible. It doesn't have to be perfect, just look put together. Thanks! Also, I have a papasan (round) chair that I might eventually paint to match. Would spray paint be my best bet for the frame? I believe it is a sort of wicker.
What colors should my room be? Ok, I am 13 years old and I am going to get to paint and get new furniture for my room. I already got the new furniture, and now I am having a REALLY hard time choosing colors for my walls and bedspread. I am bubbly, bright, and optimistic. My friend says that my style is: spunky and funky. (Hah, that rhymes!! :D) The new furniture I got is all white. I got a bookshelf, a dresser, a night stand, and a headboard for my bed. The dresser, night stand, and bookshelf have black knobs. (The bookshelf has a drawer at the bottom.) The mirror has black around the edge. If you can't really picture what the furniture looks like, here are the links to it: Dresser: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20067829 Night Stand: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90121229 (that's not the one I got though the one I got is a square, not a circle) Book Shelf: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60089914 (except its whiter) So yeah. Links to beddings would be great. Thanks in advance. I want my bedroom to be a place where I go when I need to relax or think, calm down, to comfort myself when I need to, but yet still be a place I can go when I don't need any of that at all.
Green Decorating/revamping ideas? Hi. I'd like to get some things in my home fro like, goodwill. Like a filing cabinet and bookcase to help in my orgaization resolution. But what are good ideas to do to those things to "revamp" them? Paint/decoration wise? Can you paint a filing cabinet? If yes, how? What kind? What else can you do with it (the outside of it)?? And also, I'm looking into making a bookshelf or bed frame (wooden, like with a headboard and all) out of recycled materials. I live in Sandusky, OH so I'm wondering where I can turn to to get recycled wood? Like do you just walk into a factory or home depot and say hey you got any old wood? Haha. What do I do or where do i go to find materials?

My girlfriend has 4 cats and they are all loved very much, one of the kitties is not letting us sleep at nite, he is totally cool during the day everything is kosher but as soon as we lay down for the nite he starts jumping up on the headboard and trying to knock things off of the bookshelf and he goes at it all nite , and the only way he will stop sometimes is to feed him but recently that's not even working any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated thanks!! Danger! Boring Room! I Need Help With Room Deco!? Hi! I've recently gotten a room of my own, after sharing it for years with my little sister. It's sort of smallish, with white plaster walls and a dark green carpet. My bed is in the corner with a white, wooden headboard. At the foot of the bed is a dark brown bookshelf, crammed with ornaments and books. Next to the bookshelf is a brown couch, which is front of a big window with peach-colored cortains. I also have a white wooden desk with a white backed chair. My closet is dark brown has the sliding type doors. My room is kind of 'blah' and I really want it to express ME. I'm not allowed to paint stuff, like desks or walls, I'm not allowed to put up posters, but I am allowed to put up photo album pictures of my family. My favorite colors are green and blue, and I'm lucky enough to have a green carpet. I also want my room to be colorful and bright. I have a green bedspread, a pink one with hearts, and a yellow one with blue, green, and red dots and stickpeople. Any suggestions on which one to use most of the time? Also, any little, easy-to-do ideas to make my room colorful and bright? Any suggestions or tips will help. Please no rude comments! I appreciate all answers :) Thanks and bye! See, I'm not allowed to paint my room because it's not OUR house. My dad's company owns it. So, yeah . . . And I can't put up posters because I'll ruin the PLASTER walls. The photographs came with this special thing that doesn't ruin walls. It won't work on posters :( Thanks! Just Another Day - great ideas! I will definetley try to do that. I live in this very modern city in Saudi Arabia and go to an International School. I'm sure I'll be able to find some artist who's able to sketch! Thanks!
Need serious help with the color scheme in my room!? My room is a light blue color and not really big,but definitely not small. It's a light blue, and a lot of my stuff is too.I'm sick of it >=( It's just a really loud color and I don't like it.I'm wanting something a little bit quieter,a little darker maybe.I'm not sure.I really need help, all this blue is killing me ! The floor is a tan-ish colored tile,my desk is made of glass lol, and I have white dressers and a white headboard. My room colors are actually kind of messed up lol.For example,The floor is a tan-ish colored tile,my desk is made of glass lol, and I have white dressers and a white headboard,I have a purple/white rug on the floor,my bookshelf is green, and my couch is yellow and has leaf and flower print on it.(0.o yeah,it's a disaster !!) I have no idea how to fix my color scheme,so I really need help xD
Designing my bedroom, need help? I'm 12 and my mom is letting me redesign my bedroom. I think that's awesome, but the problem is, I need help choosing what to do for it!! We already bought the new furniture. We bought a bookshelf (I love to read), a dresser, a nightstand, and a headboard for the bed. They're all white with black knobs, if they have knobs. But I don't wanna do just black and white, and we're going to paint the walls, too, but I have NO idea what colors to do!!! I want it to be colors that I like, but it has to last me until I move out, so I have to REALLY like it. But I have no idea what I'm gonna like in nine years! We're going shopping today for the bedspread & paint, so I need to choose the colors fast. I like bright colors, but kind of a pastel-ish blue would be okay. I want two or three colors. I'm not tomboy OR girly-girl. I hate both. I have no idea what I am. I'm just...different. So, what colors????????????????? Link to bedspreads would be amazingly awesome, thanks. :):):)
Could you please rate my writing on a scale of one-ten? I'm in Ninth grade honors English and we have a paper due on a descriptive writing. Please rate my and provide feedback and mention of any spelling or grammatical mistakes :} My Bedroom We all have that place where we feel free to think or act however we please in peace. Like many teens that place for me is my bedroom. Before you even enter my sanctuary you’ll come across a sheet of paper on my door where I have written: LEAVE ME ALONE! In over 20 languages. I feel it gets my point across. The second you slide open the door your ears will be delighted by the music constantly playing from my iPod and its dock. It’s usually playing Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon {suggested by my friend, Jackie} in a constant cycle. By just taking a quick glance around you’ll notice my normally boring white walls are splattered with posters and other miscellaneous “garbage” as my mother might refer to it as. Strung across the top of all my walls are dazzling multi-colored Christmas lights that give small splashes of radiant colors on my otherwise dull walls. The lights are relaxing and look astonishing when the sun has set and the lights prevent my room from being submerged in darkness. Almost all parts of what’s left empty on the wall are covered with posters ranging Mario Bros. to Family Guy to Led Zeppelin and my favorite The Beatles one that has pictures of almost all their albums in a collage of colors. Next to it dangles a rainbow of beads and other necklaces. Above my bed there’s a large thick, itchy, green fabric with a large yellow paw print encased with the words “ROCK BRIDGE BRUINS”. My thick sky blue carpet is pretty much an eyesore. Over the years it has accumulated a few stains from spilt soda cans and glasses of iced tea. I cover up as much as possible with a dark cerulean shag rug that slightly tickles your feet if you walk over it while you’re temporarily shoe-challenged. I have three bookshelves jam-packed corner to corner with old chapter books. I guess my mom figured the more books she bought me the more likely I am to be an avid reader like her…you got lucky mom. On my favorite deep blue wire bookshelf I’ve covered it with an apricot Hula skirt that sways even in the most unnoticeable breeze. I do all my sleeping, writing, sketching, and relaxing all on my ancient bed. Back in the day it seemed very spacious but that I’ve grown so much my feet dangle of the edge while I “catch a few Z’s. My comforter is vertically striped with many vibrant colors. It’s very thick and snuggly, trapping all my body heat. My headboard is hardly noticeable since it’s concealed by a variety of pillows. On the wall to the right of my headboard there are two bulky sized windows that I normally cover with thick blood-red curtains that give off an eerie red luminance during the day and block out almost all sunlight. I find my room to be remarkably relaxing and an outlet for any rage that may be caused by the other six people residing in my household. When in here I’m only bothered once in a blue moon. It’s too bad I can’t say the same for my possessions. Every night I can easily drift asleep while watching the celadon green wax in my lava lamp bounce around in random patterns. My room is my only oasis in my desert of despair.

College Bedroom needs some life! Help!? I've lived by myself for a little over a year now, and ...now that I've decided my move is a little bit more permanent than I'd originally expected it to be, I'd like to spruce up my bedroom! It's VERY dull! Unfortunately, the room has a DARK GREY carpet throughout, as well as dark brown doors and closet doors (which make the room even DARKER). It's a really big bedroom, and I can't paint the walls - so they are just plain jane white. My comforter is reversible (striped on one side, one colour on the other). I feel like my comforter is a little on the childish side, now that I'm a bit older - so I'd like the room to tone that down while still accenting the colours from it (I currently can't afford to buy another bed set). I looked for a picture to show everyone here, but, I can;t find it! The colours on one side are orange, yellow, pink, red and a magenta-fuschia type, and the solid side is magenta-fuschia colour. The sheets are white with all those coloured stripes (thin stripes), as are the pillows, and the shams are thick stripes (like the reverse of the comforter). Sometimes I alternate to red sheets! My other pillows are the same colour as the solid side of the comforter Curtains are black (because...it helps to keep the light out the most, the sun rises on my side of the apartment building). I have an oak desk, headboard, dresser and nightstand. I also have a tall, thin white shelf (like a bookshelf, but very narrow). If anybody has any suggestions that would spice of this very dull, very boring room....please hit me with them, I'd greatly appreciate it.
annoying habits-how to deal with them? I live with my boyfriend and everything is fine. We've been living here for a little less than a year but I've noticed that the small things that never bothered me before are now starting to irritate me a lot. He comes home and takes his shoes and socks off and leaves them under the coffee table. Sometimes there will be like four pairs of dirty socks just sitting under the table. Who does that? I have tried pointedly taking the socks as he pulls them off and putting them in the hamper but he still does it. We have a place for his shoes but he will insist on leaving them under the coffee table and it annoys me to no end. Also, he is one of those people who keeps the receipt for everything he ever buys, ever for any reason. Del Taco? KEEP THE RECEIPT. He refuses to get online statements from anyone because he believes that with a paper statement he can catch the companies "cheating him" or "screwing up". He takes these receipts and unopened letters and scraps of paper and just leaves them everywhere. They're covering the entire top of the coffee table, and the dining room table, and the headboard, and both of our dresser tops. I got him a plastic bin that fits in a bookshelf for him to store his papers and go through them but the ones I put in there he flat out ignored and the other papers continue to build up. Whenever I try to at least stack the papers so we have room somewhere he gets annoyed and acts like everything in the pile was of the most dire importance and that by stacking them I have lost everything and it's gone forever. He asks me not to touch his stuff. These two things really really get on my nerves and I don't know what to do about it. When I mention it at all he gets really defensive and starts pointing out all the annoying things he thinks I do, like forgetting to jiggle the handle on the toilet so the water doesn't run. Any help?
Bedroom redecoration advice? Ok, so my stepdad drilled a hole in my wall about the size of a watermelon the other day, trying to refit my parents ensuite, so they've offered to FINALLY redecorate my bedroom! Currently; My room is reasonably small. So you open the door and your face with my bed, with white and pink damask bedding, and on the back wall is my 'Wall of Stuff' complete with photographs, concert tickets, party invites, train tickets, show posters, and various notes from friends, wristbands from concerts, etc. Yep, pretty busy. Its on a plain white wall and is covering up loads of scratches on the wall - cos its white, it shows. A lot. On the left will is a small mosaic mirror, 3 wallpaper-covered (again pink damasky sort print), a canvas i painted, and a drawing i did. Then just behind the door is a sort of dip in the wall (where the built in wardrobe used to) with two pinboards covered in wall paper on. One has jewellery pinned to it, the other, well, pretty much another wall of stuff. Then theres a stool with my laptop case on,adn because theres like a mini wall where the room drops back, MORE photos. On the back of the door, scarfs coats and dressing gown, bags, etc. Then theres my writing-table thing - pine wood, mini drawer, two little shelves, then a big leg spacey thing. This has my homemade clock on (woo!) various jewellery boxes, hair product, etc. Behind this on the wall is two of those squiggly ikea mirrors, and above that, a bookshelf, complete with books and a homemade box. Then there my wardrobe (white, doesnt match the furniture :L) with loads of random multicoloured union jack print boxes and some hats on top. On the right wall, is my window with a black blind Imy bedroom used to be black and white) radiator, Pink flower canvas hanger under my tv (on a bracket on the wall, directly opposite the bed head) and my pine bedside table (actually at the foot of my bed) complete with lamp and docking station, and this random candle holder. Ive got under bed storage, my bed doesnt have a head/footboard. Long description but I wanted you to have a clear picture :) Since we're redecorating me and my mum have been back-and-forthing lots of ideas. Im really into vintage, shabby chic sort of stuff, so my plan is to have the wall behind the bed head (with the mirror and the canvases) like dark blue, with loads of vintage photo phrames, and a mirror with a little shelf on it for some makeup and that, and the wall behind my door will be similar. All the other walls will be plain cream, with little trinkets around it. However mum says the dark blue will make my room look smaller and darker. WE're planning on buying a headboard and wrapping fairy lights and a rose garland round it too :) Opinions? What colour would you paint the back wall... bearing in mind we've already bought duck egg blue floral bedding.. Pleeeeeeeeeease help! (sorry for the essay :s)
Please read and tell me if it sounds any good.? Junar is sending out Silents to obtain any unmarkables found. The Silents are reportedly going undercover as unmarkables to find other gangs, it was also reported that they have certified permits to enter into any building in Durium unless permits have been shown that the building is private. Junar assures this is the best way to keep trouble from Durium but other members of the high court disagree at his- Alea turned down the radio and glared sharply at me as I stopped washing the dishes. “Stupid maid.” She muttered from beneath her breath but clear as day. I looked up angrily at her, and roughly scrubbed the last dish clean placing it on the rack with a clatter. I stood from the stool I sat and walked loudly to the doorway. “You are only mad because of your beloved Hunry .” I spat back. Alea jumped at me but I quickly ran to my room on the far end of the hall I was near. She stumbled and held herself up against the yellowish wall as her foot hit the corner I had turned so swiftly. With haste I ran swiftly into my room and locked the door behind me quietly, I walked now slouched and tired over to my thin clothed bed and sat once more. I slowly took off each tightened boot and unraveled my ribboned hair, leaving the white silk ribbon in a bow on the headboard pole. I lazily scratched my worn sticky back and lay fully in the cool cottony sheets, they smelled of apple rose cinnamon. I snuggled my head quaintly into the pillow breathing deeply, Odelet must have been here while evening chores were to be done. I lay quietly resting for a long while wafting in the smells of apples Odelet had left, she always smelled faintly of apples because she seemed to make an apple pie everyday for someone in the estate. Thinking of her I wondered faintly if she left a small snack, I waited still in thought for a lone moment, then my tum started to grumble and I stumbled up and over my clutter to the small table on the other side of my well built room. To my joy I saw a small nicely wrapped box in the center, I hastily scrambled it open to find a small sponge cake with tiny strawberries laid neatly on top. I rummage through the draw closest to the table and grabbed the smallest spoon and started to dig my first, very petite, spoonful into it, a sudden faint but clear knock tapped on the old door. I close the box quickly and put it on the bookshelf facing away from the door as I scuttle to the wooden entrance. After the lock snaps I slowly open it and peek through. “Hailey its me.” A smile brightened my face as I let the guest in and closed the door swiftly behind him. “Is uh, Coops ok? He seemed a little… upturned the last time I saw him… I saw he was heading out somewhere but no one knew too much about it…” I walked over to the fireplace and put a log on the small already brewing fire, and then worked my way back to the table sitting across from Mud. “Oh…” his face vanished as he stared at the fire emptily. “He was out runnin’ an errand... You know the Mistress likes her fine jewelry, well they sent Coops out to Halins to get a poralene stone for one of the Mistress’s new necklaces. Real pretty stuff. But anyways, after he had got the stone he started headin’ back but those horses were mighty tired after the days ride so he had to stay in a farm somewhere just out of the city.” Mud paused. “Malid was there too.” I gasped, Malid only went places for something real important, and the Mistress collected stones all the time. It seemed odd as him being the second rider. “Well late in the night Silents rode in… They saw Coops hand first… it was the gold chip. The one his brother gave him from one of the most wanted unmarkable gangs. When the leader Silent saw it he just up and shot him to death.” A shiver ran up my spine as I heard the cold deathly words protrude from his mouth. “And… Malid?” I asked not trying to rush his story. “Well, I guess them Silents are trickable, which seems darn near impossible figuring they killed half of Gullopid last summer moon. ‘Cause Malid got away. And everyone knows he be a unmarkable…” he paused putting his gaze back on me. “Did you see what he did to Franks? He upright turned him blue in a blink of an eye. Franks be ok but it sure frightened him. From what I see, he ain’t to be trusted… Malid that is. Ain’t no one use their marks in public, specially some rat who worships ol’ miss tiny sandwich Weeden the mistress…” he smiled and chuckled slightly then his gaze turned serious again. “How long you think it’ll be before the Silents make it here?” I looked down at the worn table. “Halins is only three cities from the kingdom, and its only been a bit over a week since the search began. I guess they might be here in two days. Cause it’s a days ride on fast horses without stopping, but if their checking each house it’ll take twice as long.” I looked back at his orangey eyes and freckled cheeks.
how do you tip professional movers? We are moving out of a 3 bedroom 1300 sq ft apartment that is located on the 3rd floor, we have 3 couches and a love seat, a 4 shelf bookshelf full of books, 2 VERY large concert speakers, a 42 inch flat screen T.V. a king size bed & a full size bed both including frame headboard & foot board, and about 15 large boxes about 7 that are pretty heavy. So we have some strenuous and extremely heavy things to move, that also doesn't include our kitchen table that seats 4, and all of our glass coffee tables, and end tables. The service is 150 bucks for 3 hours, and they will load the truck, follow us to storage and then unload. I have NO clue how to tip these two gentleman, anyone have an idea?
Room decorating tips? fairytale/storybook theme? So, you might laugh, but i'm 15 and really need to update my room. its very plain and mis-matched. I really like fairy tales, and always have. I want my room to reflect this. Its a fairly small room, so not much room for much furniture. I cant get new furniture, but i currently have a wooden desk, a long wooden dresser, a white bookshelf and a black book shelf. my bed is just a single mattress on the floor. (im getting a box spring and a frame soon, possibly with a headboard and foot board, idk yet) its a square room, with three windows, and a bi-folding closet. i don't want to spend more than 200-300 dollars in total so i cant buy much, but im artistically inclined, so i can make things too. im particularly interesting in Tinkerbell, alice in wonderland, cinderella, and snow white (not necessarily disney, just in general) but alice in wonderland is my all time fave. any suggestions would be great. also, i can change the wall colour, but the trim and the doors are dark purple and id like to keep them that way. oh, and the floors are a light coloured wood.
Where can I get inexpensive bedroom furniture in Ireland? I live in Ireland and my bedroom is booooring! In my bedroom I have my single bed, a bedside table, bookshelf, desk, and built-in wardrobe and dresser. I have two small drawers where I keep underwear and socks. I want to maybe get a headboard for my bed, the kind that has shelves in it. I also want some nice wall decorations and maybe a new desk. Also I'd love some accessories, like a perfume holder/tray and a vase with fake flowers. Where can I get any of these for not too expensive. I have hardly any money at all, and once again I live in IRELAND IRELAND IRELAND, so there's no Target, PBTeen, JCPenney, Walmart or any of those, and I CANNOT order of the internet. My walls are pink and the floor is wooden with a white rug. My room is medium-sized. I'm a girly girl! :) Links from IRISH SHOPS would be great. Thanks! :) Rachel xx

How can I decorate my room? All the walls are a light baby pink while the ceiling is white. My window has boring, blue blinds. There's a tall wooden bookshelf, painted white, placed in the corner. My bed is pushed all the way into the other corner (bad idea?) I have a dresser and a mirror headboard thing with that. I also have this big red fuzzy rug. The floor is wooden like this: http://www.anandinterior.com/pcat-gifs/p… How can I make my room more cozy and sophisticated? What colors would go well with pink? Thanks!
Bedroom Decor? My fiance and I are moving into our new apartment next week. We've decided that he gets to pick the decor for the bathroom and livingroom and I get the kitchen and bedroom. Any suggestions on the bedroom? It's fairly small. Pretty much standard size for a bedroom in an apartment. It has 2 windows on one wall. The cieilings are very high and the windows are narrow and nearly floor to ceiling. Walls are white, floors are hardwood. I have a dark brown headboard for my bed. Other possible furniture in the room: Medium colored oakish, very tall 5 shelf book case, 32 inch black tv and that's all I have so far. If the bookshelf will fit in the livingroom, I'll be putting it in there instead. Since it's possibly going to bein the b-room, I wanted to throw the brown out there, though. I want something relaxing. A color scheme that really comes to gether but isn't too theme-ish. Unless it's not a cheesey theme:) Colors, details, pictures win best answer:) Oh, and I cannot paint in there annnnnd I'm on a very tight budget, so cheap and lots of diy, nothing to perm, greatly appreciated.
I've become a HGTV freak... trying to find a good furniture outlet store? Hey there, My boyfriend and I have recently moved into a new home. I've always love home makeover shows. A lot of times you see the designers going into hotel outlet stores or other home outlet stores, but I never catch any of the names of these stores! Does anyone know the names of good outlet stores to buy cute furniture? If they need a little tlc that's fine too! lol We're really just looking for a "new" headboard/foot board, coffee table, end tables, bookshelves, and that sort of thing. Thanks :)
Living space, clutter issue? I'm living with my parents, and probably will be for quite a while, and while it's nice of them and all to let me live here for free, the atmosphere is incredibly unhealthy. Every house has its clutter, naturally, and I'm sure there are houses worse than this, but the real issue is that these people are also controlling and oblivious about it. They've always had a clutter problem. They always want to move to new, bigger houses. Both my sister and brother have moved out, and both their rooms have become storage rooms. Any time there is new space, it is quickly filled with food, or random niknaks. They'll collect furniture, particularly dressers and cabinets, and fill them with more food. I'm currently bedding in my brothers old room, on a queen sized mattress on the floor, and there is literally no floor space. The queen bed barely fits, stretching from the door to the window. There is one cabinet, two dressers, all full of food. On the top of the dressers is more food. Boxes of it. There is enough floor space for two boxes of food, containers of whey powder, beer, cake mixes, bags of rice, 2L bottles of soda, etc. The closet is full of food. Olives, sauces, crackers. There is a fajita grill on the top shelf. The only place for my stuff is literally on the bed with me, or tossed over the back of a chair I managed to scrape (literally scraped the wall) in for my cat to sleep on so she didn't get cat hair everywhere. The only reason I'm in this room rather than my actual bedroom room is because it's too full of stuff to live in. The bed is covered in bags of clothes they bought for my nephew, who's playpen is in that room also. There is food covering the rest of it, food on the headboard, food on the floor. There is no access to my bookshelves because there's garbage bags full of clothes, shoes or food. The only place for clothes in that room is in one shelf of a five shelf dresser (the rest are filled with childrens clothes), and on top of a boxed keyboard that they bought at an antique shop that has only ever been used as an extra shelf (same situation in the dining room with an exercise machine, it's a shelf). I'm told I can't have that room back, because they need it for storage, and for my nephew to sleep in, or for company to sleep in. I want someplace to actually exist, but I need some advice on how to go about it. I tried clearing out a room in the basement once, and after spending over 18 straight hours cleaning it, it looked the same as when I began, even though I'd thrown out 9 garbage bags worth of stuff and put more of it under the stairs. They acknowledge they have too much stuff, but continue to buy more. The most recent purchases were a 60" TV and a new dining room suite. Often they justify purchases as, "it was on sale", or, "we'll need a new set of this eventually", or, "I bought this to give to my friends / give the old stuff to friends." But it stays here, gets put away, and forgotten. How can I go about setting this straight? Even for just one room? I feel like I've bitten off more than I can chew, and the whole situation is just hopeless. Just being here is depressing. There's no space to move around in, so I spend most of the time laying in bed. It's the only space I have to myself. I need somewhere to work. I'm sure if I cleared an area of the floor, put a mat on it, and designated it "the push-up spot", it would be covered in a box of food within the week. Some advice, please. I'm editing to mention most of the food is not edible, as someone said I should be happy I'm not going to starve. Most of the food is condiments. Sauces, mayo, etc. It gets collected because it's not used and is disproportionate to actual meals. I certainly won't go hungry if I enjoy eating popcorn kernels slathered in mustard.
Theme for teen girls room? i want to give my room a theme, not just have random things all around my room. I also want to base it on my bedding. i also have a white headboard with storage. my walls are a light purple. is there anything i can buy to make my room more fancy? i also have 2 white bookshelves, and a dark wood desk. and re-painting is not an option. thanks in advanced(: bedding: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?sku=17237004&utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=shopping headboard: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://dyijw76xix8sx.cloudfront.net/products/prepac-platform/WhiteHeadboard.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.mercantila.com/p/prepac-monterey-3-drawers-twin-mate-platform-bed&usg=__809cQmAv_4xOm_qfEzjuLkbc1iI=&h=600&w=800&sz=38&hl=en&start=0&sig2=bVzWfEkKNO55OzS6wMoGBQ&zoom=0&tbnid=vZhT-MezXsN2EM:&tbnh=107&tbnw=143&ei=AjtfTeCoD4aXtwew7aHlCw&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwhite%2Bheadboard%2Bwith%2Bstorage%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1C1SKPC_enUS373US373%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D509%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=291&vpy=263&dur=2186&hovh=107&hovw=143&tx=97&ty=59&oei=AjtfTeCoD4aXtwew7aHlCw&page=1&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0 room color: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.libertysilk.biz/ProImg/2712200811/light%2520purple.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.sodahead.com/fun/what-color-is-your-room/question-449455/&usg=__xx_Wn9vmk_U5cqqjZAyIeUg8LTI=&h=351&w=350&sz=18&hl=en&start=0&sig2=qUWk0v0i_X6U9CmVWRAVJQ&zoom=1&tbnid=nRIIYQl13yBCJM:&tbnh=152&tbnw=151&ei=xjtfTea1E8nXgQf3lfm-Ag&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dlight%2Bpurple%2Bwalls%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1C1SKPC_enUS373US373%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D509%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=759&vpy=122&dur=3050&hovh=225&hovw=224&tx=70&ty=109&oei=qztfTamROcLetgfz2bTgCw&page=1&ndsp=10&ved=1t:429,r:4,s:0
What size moving truck to use? I have to move in a week and I am trying to pick a truck size at Uhaul but I can't decide. I have a small one bedroom apartment. I would like to move everything in one trip. I am trying to decide between the 17 foot or the 24 foot truck. Here is a list of all the furniture and number of boxes we will be moving: One full size bed 2 large dressers 1 small dresser 1 desk 4 chairs small dining table 3 medium bookshelves 1 big couch 1 king size Corduroy bean bag sofa 1 big tv tv stand 1 headboard 1 large framed picture 23 large tuperware storage containers 20 small-medium boxes of stuff 1 big computer monitor and tower ok, so that is all our stuff...should we use the 17 foot or the 24 foot to move it all in one trip? The other thing I need to consider is that the 24 foot truck might be a hassle to drive and park at the new place. We are also only moving 5 minutes down the street.

How to brighten up apartment bedroom?
Room Decorating ideas? I'm redoing my room and i need some advice. Btw im 12 and a girl so keep that in mind. My room is relatively small (9ftx12) and i have a 2 part dresser with desk that i canT get rid of that is 75x18) and its yellow. Not like bright yellow but ya. I have to keep my curtains and they're green with blue bubbles. my favorite color is blue and I like it with yellow cuz thats my schools colors. I also like lime green on purple. For bedding I have a few options. This comforter is in our attic for a full size bed. http://www.beddingstyle.com/product/comforters/521525/tommy-hilfiger-bedding-amelia-island.html. And I have a comforter (twin sized) that is i can make a sheet cover for or i can get a collegiate bedspread. I would really like a daybed w/ a trundle or just add a trundle bed. I would also like to somehow add in my favorite artists and bands (Paramore, John Mayer and Jason Mraz) but I dont know how. Im open to any ideas, comments, or suggestions. Im on a pretty tight budget but i can make like a headboard or a bookshelf or something simple. Thank u guys
Ideas for a teenage bedroom? I'm moving in June and my new bedroom is fairly large, probably medium sized? Its 15X12 so big :) I'm not getting any new furniture so my bed is a dark wood, twin sized bed with a bookshelf headboard. There's a matching vanity and dresser that I'll probably sell cause I don't need it. http://media.cdn-redfin.com/photo/68/bigphoto/092/07711092_10_3.jpg that's the room with a closet on the right. Except that's cluttered with the last owners stuff. Yeah.. :) I'm more into indie/vintage/bohemian style, so I'd like my bedroom to reflect that. I've seen tons of Urban Outfitters Apartment decor and I wanna hang up the Domo lights above my 1,000 cranes I've strung together on the wall by the door. I was thinking about having the walls either be a light periwinkle blue (I like the name) and/or a light (mint?) green color. I love Harry Potter (I'm a Gryffindor, I went to the Harry Potter Exhibit when it was in Chicago & I was chosen for it! :D) photography (I'm going to be hanging pictures of my photography and friends on one section. Also, I want to incorporate flower patterns into my room. I want to keep it light and airy, mature and sophisticated but have the vintage feel to it. I'm 14 years old. But I want something that I'm not gonna wanna change for all of high school. :] Any clever ideas to make my room unique, and stuff? :D Any help would be appreciated<3 I have a few paintings, drawings, and other artwork I've created that I'd hang up along the walls too. I'd also put up old concert tickets, movie ticket stubs (Like when I went to see HP&DHPART1,) and the HP Exhibit. Also, I'd have a shelf like http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/217203_169230416468815_100001455721641_426218_2360045_n.jpg this. I'd hang up other things too, and yeah... :)
is it okay if all my furniture doesn't match? Well, I am getting a whitedresser, and white bookshelf. I have a white mirror, and white headboard. Then, I have purple nightstands and a purple desk. Is this all okay together? My walls are purple and my comforter is purple pink and white.
Needing law advice on limitations of neglect and responsibility? Recently, I purchased a captains bed (bed with bookshelf headboard and drawers built into the underneath of the bed) off of craigslist. It was a purchase for my daughters new room in our newly built home (we only bought the bed frame and headboard, the mattress was brand new). We were hoping to save a little money by buying it used as we had just built our home and that always costs more than expected. Boy was I WRONG! About a week after she had been sleeping in the bed, she started getting these welts on her legs, arms and stomach. I, not even thinking the chance of bed bugs, washed the sheets and blankets like crazy thinking that she was allergic to the fabric. They didn't go away. It was then my husband said it looked like bites of some sort. I googled bug bites and came up with several types. However, bed bug bites looked dead on to what she had. I then did endless research on bed bugs and learned that, contrary to my belief, bed bugs can and do live many other places besides mattresses. So I took survey: Brand new home, not that. Brand new mattress, not that. Never had anything like this before, not our old furniture. It left one lone obvious culprit. The bed. So I tore apart the bed and found in a small crack a cluster of bed bugs. I immediately quarantined her room and began the "delousing" process. I washed everything. I tried initially to treat the bed myself with steam from my floor steamer and hot shot bed bug spray. I also called the seller that same night. She apologized and stated she had suspected that because he child had also had several bites all over. However, she never had an inspection nor did she inspect herself. She just thought it was a bite of some kind and it was not bothering her child too much (she did not have an allergic reaction like my child did). She left it at a promise to call me back the next day after she had talked to her apartment complex as she thinks that is where they came from to let me know what they said. Of course I never got a call. But, I had a problem I HAD to fix. I felt I was VERY thorough with my extermination efforts. Though it was stated you almost always need a professional to eradicate the infestation, I thought I would give it a shot at least. After I was satisfied, I allowed my daughter to sleep in the bed again and she showed up the next morning with bites. I quarantined the room again, washed again and this time called an exterminator. The exterminator came and sprayed the room. He confirmed the source as the bed. I gave it another 24 hours to fully kill anything, and again placed my daughter back into the room. She awoke again with bites. The exterminator warned me that with these beds, there are lots of crack and crevices for them to hide and that it may be necessary to remove the bed for the best results. So I am removing the bed via a junk removal and disposal company and buying a new one. Through this whole process, about a week, I have been calling about every other day and trying to get in touch with the seller on the progress of her inspection and to let her know, I would like her to give me my money back on the bed and cover the other expenses. She has not answered until tonight. I left a message stating I felt she was avoiding me and I let her know I was not going to give up and I would keep calling. Low and behold, she text me minutes later. She said she had already spent the money I paid her for the bed and she would not refund me. I let her know I felt she was neglectful in not following through with her suspicions and she owed me the money and I would work out a payment system if she needed. She said you'll have to take me to court. She also stated she did not think suspecting and knowing were the same thing and if she didn't know she had the bed bugs that she is not liable. Suspecting was not enough. My questions are these: Is suspicion enough for her to be held liable? Is she reckless and neglectful for not seeking out the source of the bites and therefore causing my infestation? I am looking to file a small claims complaint for the bed cost, exterminator cost, bed removal and disposal, new bed cost, and medical reimbursement for my daughter. Am I entitled this? Anything else I should ask for? Am I going to win? Should I get a lawyer? Thanks for your input and advice. I have never sued anyone and I don't really know what I should do/expect. ~Infested and Frustrated
