Bookshelf Headboards

What to put in a guest bedroom?

Not really a 'guest' room but I don't know what else to call it. A girl from England is coming to stay with us for a few months and I'm not sure what to..furnish her room with. She has her own bedroom, bathroom and walk in closet. I have the basics - double bed, headboard, bookshelf, dresser/vanity, bedding and pillows. I also have an extra computer desk, entertainment unit, tv, couch and mini fridge around, the room is very large so don't worry about it being crowded - should I include these things? It can't hurt right? There's just some things I'm wondering about. Should I put stuff on the bookshelves? Some of my magazines, picture frames, candles? Should I put some pens and notebooks in the desk? A calendar? Clothes hangers? Should I put art up on the walls? Towels, bath mat, toothbrush holder, laundry hamper? I feel weird asking if she's bringing these things haha, I don't know her very well yet. I guess it should be like a hotel right? All the little things you should expect to be there.. If you could take a few moments to think about what you would want in a room you're renting, give me a little list of things I might not be thinking about. Also any other tips for making her feel more at home would be sooooo appreciated. Thanks so much everyone =)

  1. I would give her the basic amenities but not decorate...I would tell her she has free reign to do that. Offer her items she can avail herself of if needed/wanted... Why don't you take a few pictures of the room and email her them and ask her preferences.
  2. Yes to all the above you've mentioned! Thats already alot of items that should make her feel welcome and comfortable while visiting....here's a few or more things that come to mind... clock or alarm clock; bookshelves or wall shelves would be great and free up room space for items; framed photo of the British flag; photo album or box for photo's of her visit; journal book to record her visit; =)
  3. Leave her a dildo on the bed.
  4. 1] add towels, bath mat, def hangers!!, hamper or laundry basket - people don't usually bring their own 2] pens, pencils, highlighter, paper, small notepad, postits 3] small art on walls - maybe classic stuff like Monet prints? 4] candle[s], current magazines 5] desk yes - rest of furniture is negotiable - a] do you want her to watch TV in her room? b] eat in her room? 6] def an alarm clock Sounds great to me - better than most hotels!!
  5. .............a bed?
