Bookshelf Headboards

What colors should my room be?

Ok, I am 13 years old and I am going to get to paint and get new furniture for my room. I already got the new furniture, and now I am having a REALLY hard time choosing colors for my walls and bedspread. I am bubbly, bright, and optimistic. My friend says that my style is: spunky and funky. (Hah, that rhymes!! :D) The new furniture I got is all white. I got a bookshelf, a dresser, a night stand, and a headboard for my bed. The dresser, night stand, and bookshelf have black knobs. (The bookshelf has a drawer at the bottom.) The mirror has black around the edge. If you can't really picture what the furniture looks like, here are the links to it: Dresser: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20067829 Night Stand: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90121229 (that's not the one I got though the one I got is a square, not a circle) Book Shelf: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60089914 (except its whiter) So yeah. Links to beddings would be great. Thanks in advance. I want my bedroom to be a place where I go when I need to relax or think, calm down, to comfort myself when I need to, but yet still be a place I can go when I don't need any of that at all.

  4. I think since your so bubbly and bright you should do orange and maybe another color.
  5. you should paint your walls hot pink with orange and you can get a cool bead spread at target its reversible and its orange and pink with polka dots. you can also do lime green and purple. hot pink and black blue and lime green turquoise and brown is so pretty. you can get the bed spread at JCPenny for $40
  6. hey awesome im 13 too! My room is purple and has black features. (like a french budior). it looks awesome! I have also got flowy white curtains and iffle towers everywhere!
  7. pink and brown or pink and white.... or pink white and black(thats what i have.. i tried to do a paris look and its REALLYYY cute)
  8. A bright/fresh green, with yellow/purple/pink and white accents.
  9. Choose colors that you like. If you have large windows dark colors can work, but if you have small window(s) you might want to go with brighter colors. You can never go wrong with pastels, but i recommend not choosing colors you won't like in a few years. So pink for instance was my favorite color in 8th grade and by 9th it wasn't. 10. Any color will go with the furniture. Which I guess is your dillema. I would suggest that you pick a warm color. If you want a cozy room. Do not go with red. Something orange or the like. Another thing you could do is paint all of your walls one warm, (or not recommended, cool) colors and paint one feature wall the opposite (warm or cool colors). This wall should be one that you want people to look at like a window wall or a wall with lots of pictures. If you wanted, you could also do something like a giant pattern instead of the feature wall with interlocking boxes or circles. I would not recommend dots though. I wouldn't make your room too warm because sometimes you want a light and airy feeling. Use light colors to balance the walls. Accent the walls by adding white bedding with brightly colored pillows so they stand out and really bring out the walls. Remember: Don't be to heavy with color, but don't be too light. Pick a color carefully because you'll be stuck with it for a while. Do what's you! Good luck!

  12. Nice deep lavendar on the wall is a relaxing as well as a funky color. choose a paint swatch and then take it to the linen store and pick bed clothes that blend in nicely.. incorporating the wall shade but lighter in color. I guarantee the lavendar almost a periwinkle in it strips stress on walking into the room.
