Bookshelf Headboards

Danger! Boring Room! I Need Help With Room Deco!?

Hi! I've recently gotten a room of my own, after sharing it for years with my little sister. It's sort of smallish, with white plaster walls and a dark green carpet. My bed is in the corner with a white, wooden headboard. At the foot of the bed is a dark brown bookshelf, crammed with ornaments and books. Next to the bookshelf is a brown couch, which is front of a big window with peach-colored cortains. I also have a white wooden desk with a white backed chair. My closet is dark brown has the sliding type doors. My room is kind of 'blah' and I really want it to express ME. I'm not allowed to paint stuff, like desks or walls, I'm not allowed to put up posters, but I am allowed to put up photo album pictures of my family. My favorite colors are green and blue, and I'm lucky enough to have a green carpet. I also want my room to be colorful and bright. I have a green bedspread, a pink one with hearts, and a yellow one with blue, green, and red dots and stickpeople. Any suggestions on which one to use most of the time? Also, any little, easy-to-do ideas to make my room colorful and bright? Any suggestions or tips will help. Please no rude comments! I appreciate all answers :) Thanks and bye! See, I'm not allowed to paint my room because it's not OUR house. My dad's company owns it. So, yeah . . . And I can't put up posters because I'll ruin the PLASTER walls. The photographs came with this special thing that doesn't ruin walls. It won't work on posters :( Thanks! Just Another Day - great ideas! I will definetley try to do that. I live in this very modern city in Saudi Arabia and go to an International School. I'm sure I'll be able to find some artist who's able to sketch! Thanks!

  1. Demand that you paint your room blue, and put up posters REBEL!!
  2. Blow up photos of yourself and family and try to have them framed with fun, funky frames. This will add character to your room, try Wall mart etc. I don't know where you live, but you can also have an artist draw a fun picture of yourself such as a comic caricature and have that framed. It isn't expensive and you may find this at a street fair in this weather. Good Luck.
  3. There is this sticky tack stuff that you can get for posters. I used to use it when I lived at home with my mom (7 years ago) and have also used it in my son's bedroom now. It does nothing to the walls and holds posters up with no problem. Maybe with this stuff you'd be allowed to hang posters up :)
