Junar is sending out Silents to obtain any unmarkables found. The Silents are reportedly going undercover as unmarkables to find other gangs, it was also reported that they have certified permits to enter into any building in Durium unless permits have been shown that the building is private. Junar assures this is the best way to keep trouble from Durium but other members of the high court disagree at his- Alea turned down the radio and glared sharply at me as I stopped washing the dishes. “Stupid maid.” She muttered from beneath her breath but clear as day. I looked up angrily at her, and roughly scrubbed the last dish clean placing it on the rack with a clatter. I stood from the stool I sat and walked loudly to the doorway. “You are only mad because of your beloved Hunry .” I spat back. Alea jumped at me but I quickly ran to my room on the far end of the hall I was near. She stumbled and held herself up against the yellowish wall as her foot hit the corner I had turned so swiftly. With haste I ran swiftly into my room and locked the door behind me quietly, I walked now slouched and tired over to my thin clothed bed and sat once more. I slowly took off each tightened boot and unraveled my ribboned hair, leaving the white silk ribbon in a bow on the headboard pole. I lazily scratched my worn sticky back and lay fully in the cool cottony sheets, they smelled of apple rose cinnamon. I snuggled my head quaintly into the pillow breathing deeply, Odelet must have been here while evening chores were to be done. I lay quietly resting for a long while wafting in the smells of apples Odelet had left, she always smelled faintly of apples because she seemed to make an apple pie everyday for someone in the estate. Thinking of her I wondered faintly if she left a small snack, I waited still in thought for a lone moment, then my tum started to grumble and I stumbled up and over my clutter to the small table on the other side of my well built room. To my joy I saw a small nicely wrapped box in the center, I hastily scrambled it open to find a small sponge cake with tiny strawberries laid neatly on top. I rummage through the draw closest to the table and grabbed the smallest spoon and started to dig my first, very petite, spoonful into it, a sudden faint but clear knock tapped on the old door. I close the box quickly and put it on the bookshelf facing away from the door as I scuttle to the wooden entrance. After the lock snaps I slowly open it and peek through. “Hailey its me.” A smile brightened my face as I let the guest in and closed the door swiftly behind him. “Is uh, Coops ok? He seemed a little… upturned the last time I saw him… I saw he was heading out somewhere but no one knew too much about it…” I walked over to the fireplace and put a log on the small already brewing fire, and then worked my way back to the table sitting across from Mud. “Oh…” his face vanished as he stared at the fire emptily. “He was out runnin’ an errand... You know the Mistress likes her fine jewelry, well they sent Coops out to Halins to get a poralene stone for one of the Mistress’s new necklaces. Real pretty stuff. But anyways, after he had got the stone he started headin’ back but those horses were mighty tired after the days ride so he had to stay in a farm somewhere just out of the city.” Mud paused. “Malid was there too.” I gasped, Malid only went places for something real important, and the Mistress collected stones all the time. It seemed odd as him being the second rider. “Well late in the night Silents rode in… They saw Coops hand first… it was the gold chip. The one his brother gave him from one of the most wanted unmarkable gangs. When the leader Silent saw it he just up and shot him to death.” A shiver ran up my spine as I heard the cold deathly words protrude from his mouth. “And… Malid?” I asked not trying to rush his story. “Well, I guess them Silents are trickable, which seems darn near impossible figuring they killed half of Gullopid last summer moon. ‘Cause Malid got away. And everyone knows he be a unmarkable…” he paused putting his gaze back on me. “Did you see what he did to Franks? He upright turned him blue in a blink of an eye. Franks be ok but it sure frightened him. From what I see, he ain’t to be trusted… Malid that is. Ain’t no one use their marks in public, specially some rat who worships ol’ miss tiny sandwich Weeden the mistress…” he smiled and chuckled slightly then his gaze turned serious again. “How long you think it’ll be before the Silents make it here?” I looked down at the worn table. “Halins is only three cities from the kingdom, and its only been a bit over a week since the search began. I guess they might be here in two days. Cause it’s a days ride on fast horses without stopping, but if their checking each house it’ll take twice as long.” I looked back at his orangey eyes and freckled cheeks.

  1. Wow that was kinda long. But it was good I want to know more which is usually why I buy a book. Is it a book? The beginning was confusing...but only a little but I started to understand more when I read it. So basically it was good.
