Bedroom Decor?
My fiance and I are moving into our new apartment next week. We've decided that he gets to pick the decor for the bathroom and livingroom and I get the kitchen and bedroom. Any suggestions on the bedroom? It's fairly small. Pretty much standard size for a bedroom in an apartment. It has 2 windows on one wall. The cieilings are very high and the windows are narrow and nearly floor to ceiling. Walls are white, floors are hardwood. I have a dark brown headboard for my bed. Other possible furniture in the room: Medium colored oakish, very tall 5 shelf book case, 32 inch black tv and that's all I have so far. If the bookshelf will fit in the livingroom, I'll be putting it in there instead. Since it's possibly going to bein the b-room, I wanted to throw the brown out there, though. I want something relaxing. A color scheme that really comes to gether but isn't too theme-ish. Unless it's not a cheesey theme:) Colors, details, pictures win best answer:) Oh, and I cannot paint in there annnnnd I'm on a very tight budget, so cheap and lots of diy, nothing to perm, greatly appreciated.

Start with choosing the wall against which you will place your bed. Bed placed at an angle in the corner looks quite dramatic. A nightstand with drawers, shelves and a lamp can be placed at both sides of the bed for visual balance Such nightstand provide place for your alarm clock, magazines and books and water. It also allows the couple to have their own reading light in the night. Instead of foot boards to rest the feet at the end of the bed, place a bench or a trunk that provides versatility enough to be used as seating area and a storage space for blankets and a place to throw your robe after the bath. http://www.gharexpert.com/articles/Bed-Room-1223/Tips-arranging-furniture-in-Bedroom--0.aspx?PL=2&ArticleID=1223&CatID=1434&Count=-1&Tot_Rec=6&Page_Id=2&Estimator= Just check out all the links . - Check out HGTV.com They have programs regarding decorating bedrooms and may have something listed there that can help you. Why don't you consider putting your bed in between the windows [if there is room] and then put a canopy over the bed?
