What size moving truck to use?
I have to move in a week and I am trying to pick a truck size at Uhaul but I can't decide. I have a small one bedroom apartment. I would like to move everything in one trip. I am trying to decide between the 17 foot or the 24 foot truck. Here is a list of all the furniture and number of boxes we will be moving: One full size bed 2 large dressers 1 small dresser 1 desk 4 chairs small dining table 3 medium bookshelves 1 big couch 1 king size Corduroy bean bag sofa 1 big tv tv stand 1 headboard 1 large framed picture 23 large tuperware storage containers 20 small-medium boxes of stuff 1 big computer monitor and tower ok, so that is all our stuff...should we use the 17 foot or the 24 foot to move it all in one trip? The other thing I need to consider is that the 24 foot truck might be a hassle to drive and park at the new place. We are also only moving 5 minutes down the street.

- The 17 footer is way more than you need. The 24 footer is for families with a house full of crap. You could probably get away with a trailer.
- 17 foot should be enough room if packed correctly large stuf then small stuff in any open spaces since you dont have that much stuff it shouldnt be to big a deal to move with the 17 foot truck now if you were moving my house you would need a 53 trailer lol
- 17 foot ok hope you klnow most u haul trucks are stick shift. And they have a poor safety record Buyer beware
- if your only moving 5 minutes down the street make multiple trips with a 17 footer save money! if no on mutiple trips make one in a 24 footer, also note to self by your own dolly because there dolly sucks believe you me ive moved or helped people move using uhaul several times and know
- 24 foot most definitely
