How do I get my dog to quit peeing on beds?

She only pees on my brother(7y.o.) and my moms beds. She never does it to mine I think because we have a unique bond(Shes my shadow). How do i get her to stop peeing on the beds?

  1. get rid of the dog...yuck!
  2. well the dog is going to have to die
  3. Close the door to their rooms,or put up baby gates. The smell is now in the mattresses(even though you may not be able to smell it), so it will be difficult to get her to stop any other way.
  4. A good way to get an animal to stop peeing on beds is to feed them on the bed. Animals will not go to the bathroom where they eat. It helped with all but one of our cats, but she had bad training when she was younger by her previous owner. If she is young and isn't fixed then getting her fixed might help. Good Luck.
  5. dogs will not pee where the have to sleep. I assume she sleeps with you. Make her sleep in the other rooms a few nights.
  6. Buy a kennel and make the dog sleep in the yard
  7. This was on the Dog Whisper show a few weeks ago. This is a Pack leader issue. She puts her second only to you. She is making her space like dogs do when they are outside. They pee to make over another dogs pee. By peeing on there bed the dog is the leader of them. You must be the pack leader of the dog. I think you can rent some of the Dog Whisper videos at Blockbuster. After a few you will understand.
  8. Dogs like to be on beds, and different dogs just like the feel of different surfaces. Forget that stupid Dog Whisperer stuff, he's an idiot. If she didn't use to pee on beds, and she just started, GET HER CHECKED BY A VET. This almost always means there is a physical problem. It often is something as simple as a urinary Tract infection. Often older, spayed females have hormone problems that cause them to leak when they are relaxed or sleeping. Talk to a vet before you do any of the destructive dog whisperer crap. You can restrict access to the beds. The dog needs training to know WHERE you want her to go. This is just a variation of a housetraining issue. I know it seems as if she should know you don't want her to go on the beds, but punishment after the fact is never instructive to the dog. Go back to square one with housetraining. Take her outside, reward her with a tasty treat, outside, right after she goes. She will learn what works for her is to go outside, if you are consistant and take her outside regularly.
  9. buy some urine - away or some kind of urine cleaning product, it will soak into the bed and the dog wont be able to smell it, therefore, she will not remember it as a toilet
