How can I clean my upholstered bed head?

There is grease from our heads on a light colour fabric. I prefer environmentally friendly options.

1. try a carpet shampooer with a hose.
2. make a paste of baking soda and detergent by adding a bit of water. take a toothbrush or a cleaning brush and work it in the fabric. Let it sit for about 20 minutes and then take a damp sponge and remove the paste. Let it dry. Make you do a test spot first to make sure it won't discolor the fabric. Of Course, renting a carpet cleaner with a hose would be much easier. But the hand method would probably be a little more enviromentally friendly (uses no electricity).
