How do I get the messy bed head look, and how do I "rag" my hair?

hey everyone, does anyone have any tips on getting a cool bed head look? I have medium/long length hair, its quite dry but not too bad. I like the messy look. i have heard of "ragging" hair but not quite sure how to actually do it. are there any hairdressers that have any good style techniques? I have tried using bendy rollers but it hurts to sleep in them! so any other ideas would be very much welcome!! cheers!

well for one, thats so trashy looking..why would u do that. If ur hair is dry..get some smoothing serum from ur local salon..try Kenra..thats what i use, it makes ur hair silky smooth. If u most absolutely look retarded..use beez wax. U can find it at places like hot topic. All u do is rub it in. Dont ever brush ur hair after showering..just let it tangle n matt up..gross!!
Good on you, my hair's naturally wavy so I have no choice but to go for "bed head". Don't be boring and go for "sleek and straight" like that numpty that commented first. Is your hair naturally straight, wavy or curly? As I said, mines is wavy and I get my hair styled in two different ways: 1. Because my hair is naturally wavy, I wash, BRUSH, then add some mousse and scrunch it dry. Gets quite a naturally messy look and you can then calm it down at the fringe and ends with some straighteners. Won't work if your hair is naturally straight though... 2. Wash and dry your hair, take individual sections, spray with hairspray, straigten the section, then curl it with your finger. If you want big waves take bigger sections of hair. Once you're done, pull your fingers through it if you like for a more natural look. This look is a bit neater and more "Girls Aloud like"....nice for going out somewhere fancy If all else fails, go to the hairdressers, ask for the look you want and see how they do it with your hair.

Well to get the messy look u can eva back comb ur hair or u can towel dry ur hair wen gettin out of shower/bath and keep towel drying it to an extent where it is nearly dry and look very very wavy. put some moose in it and u hav the perfect messy hair look.
i have messy bed hair everyday but i dont know how it happens ;-) rag's are easy i use kitchen roll, i wash my hair and condition and towel dry apply serum to keep it sleek and not matted or otherwise you wont get the rags out. then roll up kitchen roll into tubes take sections of hair big or small and roll each section around a tube, when you get to your scalp you should be able to tie the tubes tight. do you full head takes me about an hour...then sleep in them, when you wake up your hair will be dry, take out the rags and it will be REALLY REALLY Curly.....you have been warned ! have fun it can look great.
you put fibre putty,, or putty stuff or,,matt,,,or clay,,, the day before and sleep without washing your hair..it really works
